What I Do

I create experiences.

I am the President of Teknision, which sounds like an austere position, but really it’s just a word to help customers understand our roles. My role is to be the first contact, to negotiate, and ultimately to get inside the client, the project and the target audience to the point where I can effectively describe the goals to our team.

One simple motto guides every decision I make in a project: will this improve the user’s experience? If I keep going back to that question, ultimately the answers are clear.

I am also a teacher.

I am a part time professor in the advertising program at Algonquin College, my alma mater (whatever that means). I torture my students with 8:00am classes so that I can fit teaching into my day. I teach a couple of courses in design software and advertising trends. I find it very rewarding.

I teach for some very important reasons; it keeps me in touch with the youth that are driving today’s communication trends, it keeps me sharp and makes me think on my feet. Of course, it’s not completely altruistic, every now and then I get to meet a rising star and hopefully scoop him or her up for Teknision.
